Now... don't you wish you were there with Tangent Woman and me?

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers University's win over the University of Louisville on November 9, 2006 has been named the 2006 "College Football Game of the Year" by the United States Sport Academy.

The Academy will present the award to Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano May 31.

Rutgers will receive a General Scholarship Award of $5000, a shadow box encasing a medallion and proclamation and Artist Proof #1 of foremost college football artist Daniel A. Moore's "Resurgence," which depicts Ray Rice's key run in the final drive of the Rutgers-Louisville game.

The inaugural College Football Game of the Year Award is part of the Academy's Awards of Sport, which pay "Tribute to the Artist and the Athlete." For this award, the Academy created a special voting committee consisting of former college coaches and administrators. Rutgers, which played in the first official college game against Princeton on 6 November 1869, trailed Louisville 25-7 in the first half before the Scarlet Knights stormed back to win on a dramatic field goal by Jeremy Ito in the closing seconds.
