Book 53 of 52 -- Michael Connelly's The Black Echo

Michael Connelly's The Black Echo is the first book for a new author for the Smelmooo.

This is an excellent first novel by Connelly and lays the groundwork for many of his later books while at the same time not compromising on a twisting and turning piece of suspense writing.

This is a fast moving novel which draws upon the authors’ knowledge of the criminal process following his three years working on the crime desk of the LA Times.

Some of the storyline twists are predictable while some are not, the only shame is that as with all books the number of pages left often tells you that the apparent resolution of the case is in fact a false dawn with a further twist still to come.

I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys crime thrillers and it is no secret that I’m an avid reader of all Connelly books.
